We built EcoAwareness to help Qatari students track real climate impact — not to profile them, sell their data, or follow them around the internet. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, and what you control.
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, a password (stored hashed), and — if you choose to add them — your school, age group, and climate interests. When you join opportunities we record the event, organizer, and hours logged. That's it.
To run the platform. That means: verifying you're a real person, giving you a profile, matching you with opportunities that fit your interests, logging your verified hours, and generating your Eco ID certificate when you reach milestones.
By default: only you and the EcoAwareness team. Organizers of events you attend see your name and the fact that you attended. Nothing else is shared unless you explicitly choose to.
We never sell your data. We don't run ad networks. We don't share profiles with third-party data brokers.
Your data lives in Supabase, an encrypted Postgres database, with regular backups. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — even we can't read them. Connections to our site are encrypted via HTTPS.
We use one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you logged in. We don't use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. Signing out clears the cookie.
We welcome students of all ages. If you're under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before creating an account. Parents can email us anytime to review or delete a minor's data.
If we change anything significant, we'll email you and post a notice on the site before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent update.
Email us at privacy@ecoawareness.qa. A real person on our team will reply within 5 business days.
